Welcome!

A person is brought into full communion with the Catholic Church through reception of the three sacraments of Christian initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and the Holy Eucharist.

The sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and the Most Holy Eucharist are interrelated in such a way that they are required for full Christian initiation. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) formerly called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

OCIA is for:

  • Unbaptized Adults
  • Baptized Christians of another faith tradition
  • Baptized Catholic Christians who are seeking to receive the Sacraments of the Most Holy Eucharist and/or Confirmation

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process in which a person interested in becoming Catholic learns about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Church, our faith, and so much more. Its purpose is to make a person’s faith become living, conscious, and active, through the light of instruction. Its aim is to enrich the faith life of individuals at their particular stage of development.
