The Two Great Novenas to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary

Sister Maria Natalia of the Sisters of St. Mary Magdalene was born in 1901 near Pozsony, present-day Slovakia. Her parents were craftsmen of German origin. As a youngster, she learned German, Hungarian, and later French. In Hungary she began to have inner locutions and visions on the destiny of Hungary and the world, and as a girl she had already experienced strong mystical experiences. The messages given are a call to the atonement of sins and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the Victorious Queen of the World. Most of the messages were written between 1939 and 1943.

The following is taken from a book based on the diary and other messages that Sister Natalia had given several people:

On August 15, 1942, Jesus gave me an enormous grace. During a vision He gave great promises in favor of those persons who made a   novena in honor of his Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He said to me:

“My daughter, behold your Mother, the Queen of the World. Love her and treat her with the confidence of a little child. This I want from you and from all.”

And opening her mantle a little, He showed the Heart of His Mother, saying:

“Just as I came to the world by means of the immaculate Heart of My Mother, it is also by means of this same Heart that souls will have to come to My most Sacred Heart.”

Afterwards, in a marvelous way, our Lord took the Heart of Mary into His divine hands and, turning toward the world, said:

“Here is the Immaculate Heart of my Mother in whom I have put all my graces for the world and for souls! This Heart is the source of my graces, from which the life and the sanctification of the world flow. As the celestial Father gave everything to Me, I have established in the Immaculate Heart of My Mother the power to defeat sin and the world. Through my daughter, Margaret Mary Alacoque, I promised the world great things. But, because My goodness is infinite and My Grace inexhaustible, I still promise more…If souls want My promises to come true, they must love and venerate the Immaculate Heart of My Mother. They will demonstrate this when they, properly prepared and repented, receive Holy Communion on nine consecutive first Saturdays of the month, as well as nine consecutive first Fridays, with the intention of consoling my Heart as well as the Immaculate Heart of my Mother.”

I understood that Jesus was requesting the same for his Mother as He had asked St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for himself. I asked Jesus, if we also needed to make reparation for our frequent sins of ingratitude to our Mother Mary and received this answer:

“My beloved daughter, if somebody hurts me, this person also hurts my Mother. If somebody consoles me, at the same time consoles my Mother, because with regard to love the two of us are one and the same.”

(Those who follow the Divine Savior’s instructions of confessing individually in preparation for the first Friday of the first Friday devotion and maintain themselves in the state of grace do not need to confess again for the other first Saturdays. But, if the first Saturday coincides with the first day of the month, preceding the first Friday of the Sacred Heart, it is necessary to confess.)

Prayer at Communion on each first Saturday:

“Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer You, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, this Holy Communion to console You for all the sins committed against You.”

When the Savior spoke to me of the first Saturdays, I was not aware that the Most Holy Virgin in Fatima had only requested the five first Saturdays, in comparison with the nine from the messages that I had received. Therefore, the authorities of the Church wanted to know why the Savior requested nine while the Virgin Mary in Fatima had requested only five.

The Divine Savior answered:

“the request of my Mother of five Saturdays is sign of her humility. Although She is glorified in heaven, She lives in the spirit of humility and therefore She does not consider herself deserving to receive any devotion that is equal to Mine. My request, therefore, is a sign of my love, which could not tolerate My part being greater than hers since she and I live in the same love.”
